- If you love 20's Germany with von Stephanitz and his new German Shepherd, 3 Penny Opera & Mack the Knife...Metropolis and Fritz Lang, then you will just adore George Grosz with his incredible satire of 1920's Berlin right on the eve of destruction. These carciatures are striking, they are incredibly good and very realistic but so contemporaneous. I just love the texts that Grosz puts under his cartoons like Schillers "Swif if you can and if you are too weak, sink" for a stark contrast between rich and poor bon-vivants; or "Total Devotion" to the party-scene. I find this collection incredibly joyous and very inspiring but I have a black sense of humour.
